Solar is the lowest impact energy technology, and the ‘fuel’ is free. So why don’t we have solar panels on every rooftop? Price. Solar panels and concentrating solar plants are the most expensive form of power production. With the help of subsidy and government support, the cost has been gradually declining over the 40 years we’ve been building solar. Let’s hope it continues to fall, so we can build more of it.
